Built originally as a 3rd-class carriage for the Egyptian State Railway. Dozens of these carriages were used by the British Army for evacuating its wounded during the Sinai and Palestine campaigns of World War I. This carriage was captured by Israel during the 1956 Sinai Campaign and used here by a breakdown gang when dealing with derailments etc. |
